Some Hotep

Wet

As to What

Risk

Some Hotep

The past is not anxious for discovery

it requires ingenious equipment

spectrometers  radar

a long line of archeologists with mirrors

passing sunlight into the tomb passage

Wet

is a complete description of itself

the one quality it cannot be more than

unlike more which is never enough

like the Mississippi that never stops

wanting to be the Atchafalaya

As to What

No stone unturned we say as if

that’s where we’d look for it

yet we are overturning them all

puzzled as to what allowed ecstasy

to evolve in the body together

with self-doubt and suspicion

Risk

The coast is not clear

The coast is hope edge on

It is full of specialists

one who discovers a mushroom

knowing it has never been described

another that exposure to novelty

may not confer immunity

but only a stiffness in the jaw
